My name is Jasmin and I am a photographer and freelance music journalist from Ontario, Canada. While music has always been a huge part of my life, my creative roots began in visual art — photography, drawing, and painting — since I’ve never exactly had the gift of instrumental rhythm.
 

I first picked up a camera at 12 years old, and by the time I was mid-way through high school, I knew photography was what I wanted to pursue. At 23, I turned that passion into a business and began working professionally — exploring a variety of genres including portrait, lifestyle, and event photography. Over time, I found myself drawn back to the music world that shaped so much of my youth — from attending local festivals and helping at band merch tables to photographing live performances and supporting friends in the scene. In a way, it feels like it's coming full circle.

This year, I decided to reconnect with that part of myself — returning to concert photography and rediscovering my love for writing. I’ve always enjoyed creative writing and storytelling, and now I’m combining those passions through the Modern Journalism: NYU x Rolling Stone course, where I’m developing my skills in music writing, media storytelling, and industry reporting.

I’m currently building my portfolio and excited to continue capturing and writing about the artists, stories, and moments that inspire me most.​
